Today I got accepted into the new Windows Live Messenger 9 beta program, the new version of Windows Live Messenger includes some cool new features which include (From the Microsoft Connect website):

Sign-in and messaging in multiple locations - You asked for it, now you have it! You can now sign into Messenger from more than one computer at a time, up to four at once. Simply sign into Messenger from one computer, install Messenger on another computer and sign in using the same account. (Only works if all computers are running Messenger 9.0 Beta. Currently enabled only for users whose Windows Live ID country is US or Canada.)

Signature sounds – Pick your own personal sound that your contacts will hear when you sign into Messenger (only works if you and your contacts have Messenger 9.0 Beta).

Per contact sounds - Pick unique sounds for each of your contacts. You will be able to tell from across the room who is sending you a message.

SPAM Reporting - If users send you unsolicited messages or invitations that you consider spam, you can block them and report them as spammers. If you report a user as a spammer, the messenger service will collect this data and put appropriate restrictions on the spammer accounts. All reports of spammers are kept confidential.

Animated Display Pictures – Show your moves! Messenger now supports animated .gif files as display pictures.

Link in Personal Status Message – URLs in Personal Status Messages are hot and clickable in the Messenger contact list.

Behind the Scenes Changes – Architectural changes that modified how things work but shouldn’t have changed how things look

Changes to sign-in, connectivity, presence, sending text IM’s, voice & video features

Windows Live Contacts Server – wlcomm.exe runs in the background to keep your contacts’ information up-to-date and helps Messenger sign you in faster

As some of you may already know I work as a Web Developer for GamerNode.com (A gaming news, reviews, and previews site). I also now have a few new people I work for.

Some people I am going to / have been working with recently are Aaron McGowan (Good friend of mine, we go back all the way to 100 web space), and Jesse Wingert (Jesse is a friend of mine I met at GamerNode, he is a designer).

Hopefully with these new relationships I will be able to start making some more money from web-related jobs (DynaTech Media has been rather slow..).

For now i’m out.

~ Ryan

First off, I have been EXTREMELY busy with web development work. I am currently working on multiple projects ranging from personal websites, Gaming news site (GamerNode.com), and many more.

I would also like to note that I HAVE been also doing some work on the new RM249.COM, but not much due to the amount of client work that i have.

I have installed phpBB3 Olympus RC1 on RM249.COM [http://forums.rm249.com/], register now!

I also got really bored one night and decided to create a Video Game Music Video (VMGV), check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pqJvjSE3hU

Hmm… what else is there, in case everyone hasn’t already checked out eXgs gaming, check out the official forums @ http://www.exgs-gaming.com/

Well, it has been quite a while since I last posted on my blog so here is a bit of an update on what have been going on lately. I have been really busy working on one of my client’s (Eric Lee’s World of Photography) website design and coding these past few weekends, along with me and my friend Hubi’s hosting company - DynaTech Hosting. School is going kinda boring - only one more week until next semester, that means new classes! I am going to attempt to use my Community Service block for Web Page Design with Mr. Stevenson, my original intentions were to use it for being an aid for TV Productions, but after hearing about how that class is going, I think that it would be better if I were to use it for Web Page Design.

My friend Greg (Ownage Time) showed me this awesome program called Hamachi that allows you to create a Virtual LAN over the internet. That means for all of you who are unable to forward ports, or your router just does not work, you can create a server and play with your friends as long as you are all on the same Hamachi network. This program is a definite must-have for any gamer / file sharer.

I am sure you all have heard about the “problems” that have arose as a result of careless and idiotic operation of the Nintendo Wii. In my honest opinion - I think that it is a bunch of crap. First of all, the Nintendo Wii is not meant to be “chucked” at the TV Screen, and second of all I think most of these people are only doing it for attention. All that this is is a few disgruntled Playstation fanboys thinking they can get Nintendo to pay for their “broken” TVs that are supposable caused by the Nintendo Wiimote. This image below pretty much outlines how pathetic these people are:

First of all, there is absolutely NO WAY that a child could cause the Wiimote to go flying with such force.

Until next time, I am off.
